Search engines optimization is the art of preparing your web pages for optimal ranking through the use of keywords. Getting attention from the search engines is similar to publishing a newspaper. To get a reader's attention, a printed article has to use a catchy title with the first few lines telling the reader what it is all about. The body of the article has to present the information in a meaningful, useful, and well organized fashion. The same concepts apply to search engines. Keyword selection is the most critical step of your website marketing strategy.

Outbound links are what links your website to others. The presence of your keywords in the text of your outbound links will increase your ranking by the search engines. For optimal ranking, your most important keywords should be part of the text of your outbound links.

Pictures names
The presence of your keywords in your pictures file names will increase your ranking by the search engines. For optimal ranking, your most important keywords should be used as picture names.

Pictures alternate texts
The presence of your keywords in your pictures alternate text (displayed when the picture is not available) will increase your ranking by the search engines. For optimal ranking, your most important keywords should be used as picture alternate text.

The presence of your keywords in your web page comments will increase your ranking by the search engines. For optimal ranking, your most important keywords should be used as web page comments.

Web page file names
